Who we are:

Christian Homeschoolers of the Topeka Area is a Christian organization designed to support the homeschooling family. The organization is made up of homeschooling families from many different backgrounds and denominations.

While we do not endorse or exclude any denominational beliefs, we do strive to make Christ the center of our group, as He is the center of our homes. See also our statement of faith.

Many different activities are planned throughout the year to benefit homeschooling families. All homeschoolers are welcome to participate in the planned events, whether they subscribe to the newsletter or not. We plan field trips, parties, classes, fellowship meetings, and many other activities. Each family participating in Christian Homeschoolers of the Topeka Area is encouraged to participate in planning or assisting in activities. We all have ever changing circumstances and at times are more able to help with activities than at other times. But we encourage each family to contribute as the Lord leads them.

We have families with children of all ages from very small, just thinking about homeschooling to seniors in high school. We plan a variety of activities in an attempt to meet the academic and social needs of each child.

SAT Achievement Tests are administered yearly by volunteer help from parents. These tests are not required by the state or by Christian Homeschoolers of the Topeka Area but can be a helpful tool for parents. Each family is given the option of testing children from Kindergarten through High School each year. Separate fees are required for each child participating in the achievement testing to cover the costs of the materials and grading.

It is the purpose of this group to be an aid in supporting the social and academic needs of each family in the local homeschooling community. We ask the Lord to guide and bless the activities that we plan and each of our individual homes. We strive to provide these services with help and support from each of our members so that the organization is a blessing to all and a burden to none.

Monthly Fellowship meetings for teaching parents
Student access to a variety of classes, workshops and field trips
Fellowship opportunities for students and parents during play days, parties and talent nights.
Stanford Achievement Tests administered each spring
Pizza Hut's BOOK-IT! reading program for K - 6th grades
Monthly calendar of events and newsletter
Teaching workshops for homeschooling parents
Access to a Kansas Certified Teacher
Christian Homeschoolers Library containing curriculum, homeschool helps, and much more
Directory of homeschooling families
School Pictures
E-mail list for sharing information
Graduation Ceremony in May
Optional membership to Associated Christian Schools International (ACSI) including ACSI student and educator ID cards

Yearly Fees

Newsletter Subscriptions:

Printed Copy - $15.00
E-Mail Version - $6.00

Optional ACSI Membership - $5.00 per student K - 12th grade

Optional SAT Testing - $25 per student K - 12th grade ($25 fee includes a $5 Deposit due with Subscription fees and also includes ACSI membership)

How Do I Subscribe?

To subscribe to the newsletter, you will need to fill out a Subscription Request Form. This form includes information about your children and family so that we can get to know you better.
