People Achieving Through Home Schooling
A Home School support group for Christian families in Franklin and surrounding counties.

Belief: God has given parents the responsibility to raise and train their children. Homeschooling is a very effective approach to accomplishing this God given responsibility of raising a Godly generation for His glory.

Commitment: To support all PATHS families with activities which are consistent with our belief by promoting a Christian world view as defined by the Bible.

Activities:

• Home School Coop - classes involving Art, Gym, and Music will meet the first three Fridays of September through May for Pre-K through 6th grade.
• C.A.T.C.H. Youth Ministry - Christ at the Center Home Schoolers - A group comprised of Jr./Sr. high school students who are intent upon developing an active faith by blessing others through acts of service.
• Field trips - planned monthly throughout the school year and will generally occur during the last week of each month.
• Testing - Administered annually using the Stanford Achievement Test.
• Spring Production - A showcase for highlighting the talents of the PATHS children.
• Field Day - An annual outing which offers competitive opportunities for all ages.
• Drill Team - A team of girls focused on the modest display of teamwork and military style drill.
• Other activities are encouraged as directed by individual parents.

Communications: The PATHS newsletter is published monthly - August thru May and is the primary communications vehicle for PATHS.

Organization Structure: An election is held each spring for our only elected position which is President. This position has authority to direct all PATHS activities. The president appoints all other positions and appoints a leadership committee to oversee all the activities of PATHS. This committee meets bimonthly in an open meeting. Minutes are published in the newsletter.

Affiliations: PATHS is affiliated with Christian Home Educators Confederation of Kansas (CHECK). This is a state wide consortium of local home school support groups. CHECK administers an excellent web site at www.kansashomeschool.org which provides everything you need to know about homeschooling in Kansas.
