Speech and Debate News for Kansas

New State Representative - Ellen Barber has been named the new Kansas representative for Kansas for the National Christian Forensics and Communication Association. She replaces longtime representative Debbie Bearden, who will continue to be active with NCFCA as her son completes his final year of competition. Resolutions for 2005-2006 Topics for NCFCA Competitions 

Topeka and Lawrence Area Speech and Debate Classes and Verbatim - If you're in the Topeka or Lawrence areas and are interested in team debate, Lincoln-Douglas debate, public speaking, or junior public speaking (elementary ages) classes, please contact Cheryl Reynolds at reynoldsca@aol.com. Area participants are also welcome to meet with the Verbatim Speech and Debate Club for practices and competitions.

Bulk Order for Brief Books: Blue Books and Red Books - Anyone who would like to be part of a group order for brief books for 2005-06 should contact Cheryl Reynolds at reynoldsca@aol.com. Colorado Debate Camp to be Held 

When: Labor Day Weekend, September 2-5, 2005 
Where: Round Up Ranch, Sedalia, Colorado 
Why: To "train the mind for action" for debate in the 2005-2006 school year 
Who: Coach Vance Trefethen and Coach Chris Jeub will host the camp, training beginner and expert debaters how to win debate competitions. 
What: Research, strategy, delivery, preparation, fun, Colorado mountain beauty all around, paddle boating, mountain climbing, debaters from all over the country, debating.
