Core Knowledge Science This page is dedicated to all the teachers who have had to become researchers and authors due to the lack of textbooks and resources for the Core Knowledge Curriculum. When our school system adopted Core Curriculum, I think most teachers were a bit overwhelmed. The best resources I found were online, and if it hadn't been for the internet, I would have gone crazy that first year researching Core Knowledge topics for the third grade. The Why Files format consists of alternating weekly features that key off developments that make headlines. Features are cataloged in an easily searchable archive and are regularly updated to keep pace with new developments in science. The site also offers a Cool Science Image feature and gallery with pictures obtained from the front lines of science, images infrequently or rarely seen in traditional popular media such as newspapers and television. |
