HAWAIIAN DINNER - January 20

Use this opportunity to study about Hawaii. Take a mental trip to the tropics during our cold Kansas winter, then plan to join in on the Hawaiian Luau on the coldest of dinner nights! Bring a covered dish or two with a Hawaiian flare and share in the fun. If you want to brave the cold, dress the part! Aloha

Wear Red or Hearts Day - Valentine Party - February 3

Get into the spirit by dressing in your favorite red or heart covered clothes. The children will enjoy a group party planned with the cutest of treats and the sweetest of games. Instead of valentines to trade with the other children, each family is encouraged to bring a nonperishable treat that will be donated to a local nonprofit group that provides shelter for those in need.

PIZZA DINNER - February 17

Come enjoy a meal together with other families in the group that’s sure to be loved by all. Bring a favorite pizza or two - homemade, frozen, or pizzeria made and have fun together. A “serious” game of Pictionary may follow the meal.

HAT DAY - PAPER MAKING - March 2

Wear a hat that you’ve made or your favorite hat that’s been around and try your hand in the art of paper making. We will use newsprint and add color with bits of construction paper or flower petals to create paper for card making.

IRISH DINNER - March 16

Study Ireland during March, then share some of the culinary treats that you have discovered with the other families in the group. Whether you have green blood or not, this will be a great time for all.

He will demonstrate how to work with the clay, the wheel, and his hands while he tells of the best Potter of all. For more information about Mr. Matson’s art, go to his website at www.humbleclay.com.

CHINESE DINNER - April 20

Do a unit study on China this month and share your new found knowledge with the group in the form of a tantalizing Chinese dish or two. Bring it to the family dinner so that your family can share the experience with others.

PAJAMA DAY - GAME DAY / YEAR END FUN TIME - May 4

Kids can come dressed in their comfortable pajamas and enjoy a day of games and fun!

AMERICAN DINNER - May 18

Come share the last dinner of the year with the others in the group. We will focus on good old American fare. Do you have a dish that’s as American as Mom’s Apple Pie? Hope to see you there!

Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month. The first Tuesday meetings are at 1:30 pm and are designed for children’s activities. The third Tuesday meetings are at 6:00 pm and are for a covered dish dinner for the entire family.

All meetings and activities will be held at the Potter-Beath Activity Center at the
First Nazarene Church located at 2931 W 24th Ave, Emporia, KS.
